About Youth Cricket
Youth cricket is a vital and thriving part of Instonians Cricket Club. The club offers opportunities for boys and girls from primary school age through to Under-15 level, with players competing in leagues and cup competitions from as young as nine years old.
The 2025 season was particularly successful for the youth section, with the Boys Under-15 team winning the Graeme Cup and becoming All-Ireland champions, the Boys Under-11 team winning the Quoile Cup, and the Girls Under-13 Diamonds team securing their league title. Instonians Youth Cricket focuses on skill development, enjoyment, and progression, providing a strong pathway into senior cricket and lifelong involvement in the sport.

Who can join Youth Cricket at Instonians?
Boys and girls from primary school age up to Under-15 level are welcome to join. Players of all abilities — from beginners to experienced cricketers — are encouraged to take part.
Does my child need previous cricket experience?
No. Many children join with no prior experience. Coaching focuses on learning skills, having fun, and developing confidence in a safe environment.
What equipment does my child need?
- Cricket clothing suitable for training and matches
- Trainers or cricket shoes
- Water bottle
Protective equipment will be required for matches. If your child is new to cricket and doesn’t yet have equipment, please let us know — we may be able to help with club kit where available.
When do youth training sessions take place?
Training times vary by age group and season. Updated schedules are shared directly with parents and are available on the club website.
Is youth cricket safe?
Yes. All coaching is delivered by qualified coaches, with age-appropriate rules and a strong focus on player welfare and enjoyment.
What are the youth training times?
- Monday U11: 5.30pm – 7.00pm
- Monday U13: 6.45pm – 8.15pm
- Tuesday U15: 5.15pm – 6.45pm
- Wednesday Girls Diamonds: 5.30pm – 7.00pm
- Friday U9: 6.15pm – 7.30pm
