At Instonians, so much of what makes the club special happens because people give up their time to help.
From coaching and refereeing to organising fixtures, serving on committees, helping with administration, maintaining facilities and lending a hand on tidy-up days, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their contribution is often unseen, but it is absolutely vital to the life of the club.
Earlier this season, members of our Rugby section rolled up their sleeves for a club tidy-up day, helping keep our surroundings in great shape. More recently, our Hockey section did the same, with volunteers coming together to improve and freshen up the club environment for everyone who trains, plays and visits.
These efforts are a great reminder that volunteering at Instonians takes many forms. It is not only the big jobs or official roles that matter, but also the simple willingness to step forward, help out and take pride in the club. Whether it is marking pitches, tidying grounds, coaching junior players, umpiring matches, supporting match days, serving on committees or helping behind the scenes, every contribution makes a difference.
Clubs like Instonians do not run on goodwill alone — they run because people are prepared to give their time, energy and commitment week after week. That spirit of volunteering strengthens every section of the club and helps create the welcoming, community-focused environment that so many people value.
On behalf of everyone at Instonians, thank you to all of our volunteers across Rugby, Hockey and the wider club. Your time, effort and dedication keep the club moving forward and make Instonians what it is.
If you already volunteer, thank you. If you are thinking about getting involved, even in a small way, your support would be hugely appreciated.
